Denture Repairs & Covid-19

PLEASE NOTE:

  • We understand that a broken denture can be debilitating to all age groups, so Lenard will be happy to arrange repairs as quickly and as safely as possible.
  • Dental Design studio will be available to carry out denture repairs without the patient being present. Please be assured that we will, of course, be enforcing our strict hygiene regulations, as patient and staff safety is of paramount importance to us.
  • If a patient is a high risk or displays symptoms including high temperature, a new continuous cough or difficulty breathing then we would politely refuse the denture repair until the patient has been through the recommended incubation period.

Helpful tips to prevent problems.

  • Remove your denture as advised by your dentist. Prolonged excessive wear will make your denture more prone to breakage
  • Clean your denture over a sink filled with water – NEVER over an empty sink under a running tap.
  • If your denture starts to feel loose, consider a reline to ensure stability
  • Store your denture somewhere safe when removing it –the same place every time, so that you always remember where it is
  • Consider having a low-cost duplicate denture made so that you always have a spare to hand in case of emergencies

What should I do if my denture breaks?

  • If possible, keep all the broken pieces together.
  • Do not use super glue as it is not formulated to be in the mouth and will dissolve very quickly. It will also make it extremely difficult to repair accurately.
  • Do not try and repair the denture yourself as you may cause further damage

How long will my denture repair take?

We will always aim to repair your denture at Dental Design Studio as soon as possible, often we can repair dentures in as little as 36-48 hours. We will always give you an exact time frame when we examine you. If a repair is not possible then we would ask you to contact your dentist for a new impression.
